Design-Build Services for Adaptive Reuse of the Historic Benson Cabin to Create Affordable Housing

The Jackson/Teton County Housing Authority is seeking design-build services for the adaptive reuse of the historic Benson Cabin to create affordable housing. The project involves rehabilitating the cabin, which is listed on the Jackson Historic Register, to provide a livable space for local workers and their families while preserving the character of the historic resource. The selected design-build team will be responsible for designing and constructing the project, including interior wall relocation, exterior soffit repair, new bathroom and kitchen layout, and upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The project must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and comply with local building codes and regulations. • The project is expected to begin immediately upon execution of the contract and conclude by December 31, 2026. • The design-build team must include an architect and general contractor licensed to work in Jackson, WY. • The team must demonstrate experience working on historic buildings and meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards. • The project budget will be negotiated with the selected design-build team, and the team must provide a lump sum price for the work. • The Housing Department will review and comment on the design and construction plans, and the team must address any issues or concerns raised by the department.
