Description
The State of Vermont, Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation is seeking a vendor to supply and deliver kiln dried firewood to Region 1 VT State Parks. The vendor will be required to provide firewood that meets certain specifications, including being harvested, processed, stored, treated, and transported in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, quarantines, and acceptable forestry practices. The vendor will also be required to deliver the firewood to the identified state parks within seven calendar days of request. The contract period is expected to commence on April 30, 2026, and terminate on April 30, 2027.
• The vendor must provide firewood that is free of construction debris and inorganic materials, reasonably free from rot and decay, and cut to no greater than 16 inches in length.
• The vendor must provide firewood that is split to a maximum thickness dimension of 6 inches and contains a minimal amount of small woody bark debris.
• The vendor must provide firewood that is mixed uniformly with a minimum of 85% hardwood and a maximum of 15% softwood species.
• The vendor must provide firewood that is kiln dried to meet the definition of dried at the time of delivery.
