Tower Climbing Service for White Sands Missile Range

The Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) Meteorology Branch at White Sands Missile Range is seeking qualified contractors capable of providing tower climbing services for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of meteorological equipment on test range telecommunications towers. The selected contractor will be responsible for safely accessing these towers to perform necessary maintenance and repairs. The contractor must be able to prove that the individuals tasked to the project are critical to project completion and are qualified to complete the tasks required of them, including the ability to climb the 500-foot tower in question. • The tower in question is approximately 30 miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico and 50 miles north of El Paso, Texas, on White Sands Test Center. • The government envisions a Purchase Agreement for this effort, with a period not to exceed five years and a cost not to exceed $55,000 in total. • The contractor is required to provide necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all of their personnel on this project. • The contractor shall exhaustively consider the safety implications of the entire aspect of the project and develop a Safety Plan by which all potential safety concerns are identified and addressed. • The contractor shall seek to standardize the installations at each wind bird height and for every iteration of installation to the greatest extent possible. • The contractor is required to produce a schedule listing individuals, dates and times that work is planned at the site, which must be provided three business days in advance of being on site, to the GPOC and GTR, via email.
