Mixed Organic Composting and Compost Procurement

The County of Butte is seeking proposals from firms to accept and process mixed organics generated within Butte County and from the Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility. The selected respondent will be responsible for accepting and processing 12,500 tons of mixed organics at a certified mixed organics compost facility. The respondent will also be responsible for hauling back or purchasing credits equal to 4,750 tons per year of certified compost to meet the SB1383 procurement goals. The county is looking for a respondent with experience in similar projects and the ability to meet the project goals. The proposal should include a description of the respondent's experience, capabilities, and approach to the project. • The respondent should have experience in mixed organics composting and processing. • The respondent should have the ability to process 12,500 tons of mixed organics per year. • The respondent should have a certified mixed organics compost facility. • The respondent should have the ability to haul back or purchase credits for 4,750 tons per year of certified compost. • The respondent should have experience in working with government agencies and meeting project goals.
