PROCESSING AND DIVERSION OF ORGANIC AND RECYCLING MATERIALS

The City of Glendale is seeking a qualified contractor to receive, weigh, process, recover, transfer, and dispose of the city’s organic (green and food) waste and street‑sweeping recycling material on an as‑needed basis over a three‑year period. The work must be performed at a primary facility within 15 road miles of the city, with a capacity of roughly 75 tons per day, and must include monthly reporting, compliance with SB 1383, and adherence to all applicable permits. The contractor must also provide a contingency facility, handle contamination, and meet strict invoicing and insurance requirements. • Process and divert organic waste (composting, anaerobic digestion, etc.) and recycling material, maximizing recovery and minimizing landfill disposal. • Provide certified scale tickets for each load and monthly performance reports, with annual summary reports. • Maintain required insurance (general liability, auto liability, workers’ comp) and submit certificates within 14 days of award; all insurance must name the City as additional insured. • Demonstrate capability to handle up to ~75 TPD, operate Monday‑Saturday 7 AM‑5 PM, and maintain necessary permits and SB 1383 compliance. • Offer contingency processing options without additional charges unless pre‑approved.
