Multi Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) - Professional Mariner (PM) Crew

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking a Professional Mariner (PM) Crew to operate and maintain four Multi Mission Surface Combatants (MMSC) during a 14-month Post Delivery (PD) period for each ship. The PM Crew will be responsible for safe operation and navigation of the ship, equipment planned maintenance, shipboard hotel services, and routine upkeep of MMSC during PD periods in-port and at-sea. The contractor will also provide shore services in support of ship operations. The draft Statement of Work (SOW) and other relevant documents are available for review, and interested parties are invited to provide feedback and comments. Key aspects of the job include: • Safe operation and navigation of the ship • Equipment planned maintenance • Shipboard hotel services • Routine upkeep of MMSC during PD periods in-port and at-sea • Provision of shore services in support of ship operations • Attracting and retaining a high-quality crew • Crew wages and benefits as the largest cost drivers • Establishment of a baseline crew complement for pricing and evaluation purposes • Subcontracting support functions, such as cleaning and maintenance • Reducing PM Crew turnover through stability, predictability, and clear schedules • Providing required tools for planned maintenance • Handling of ordnance for stowage by PM Crew if properly trained • Requirement for PM Crew personnel to hold security clearance • Insurance coverage for liabilities related to ship operations and crew safety
