Description
The City of Alexandria is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive natural‑gas pipeline welding services, including new construction tie‑ins, maintenance, emergency repairs, and specialized operations such as hot tapping. The work must comply with API 1104, 49 CFR Part 192, and all relevant OSHA and DOT regulations, and the contractor must be able to respond to emergencies within 2–4 hours on a 24/7 basis. The contract is initially for one year with two optional one‑year extensions, and the city will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
• Weld steel natural‑gas pipelines, fabricate fittings, and perform pressure‑containing welds.
• Provide 24/7 emergency leak repair and rapid response (2–4 hour turnaround).
• Submit required welding qualifications (WPS, PQR, WQR) and maintain a robust safety and insurance program.
