Description

The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS) is seeking qualified partners to operate no‑cost pet wellness clinics throughout the city. Selected contractors will provide free rabies, DHPP, and FVRCP vaccinations, as well as microchip implantation and registration for dogs and cats owned by San Antonio residents. ACS will reimburse the contractor at a flat rate of $20 per qualifying animal served and may supply the microchips and some clinic supplies. Contractors must staff the clinics with trained personnel, maintain records, handle invoicing on a monthly basis, and comply with insurance, indemnification, and reporting requirements. The work includes scheduling clinics at various community locations, managing cancellations or rescheduling due to weather or veterinarian availability, and coordinating with ACS on site selection and marketing.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $400,000

The contract pays $20 per qualifying animal. Assuming a modest partner serves 250 animals per month (≈3,000 annually), the annual reimbursement would be about $60,000. Larger partners could serve 1,000+ animals per month, resulting in $240,000‑$480,000 per year. Therefore a realistic budget range for a typical contractor is roughly $100,000 to $400,000 over the contract term, depending on volume and the length of the agreement.
