Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award a contract for a subscription to "The Cancer Letter" without providing for full and open competition. The subscription is intended to provide 3,000-4,000 NCI staff with swift and unencumbered access to the newsletter, which contains information about cancer research, cancer therapies, cancer research funding, health care finance, legislation, and policy that impacts the work and mission of NCI. • The contract is for a non-competitive basis, with an intended procurement classified under NAICS code 513120. • The resultant contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-99-1. • Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this notice, and responses must be received by June 1, 2026, at 9:00 AM Eastern time. • The importance of establishing enterprise-wide access to this subscription is to ensure that discoveries in NCI-supported research and clinical trials are shared among NCI staff. • The Cancer Letter has provided information about cancer research on a weekly basis for over 4 decades to an audience consisting of academic cancer centers, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, governmental agencies, and other news media.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $50,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be relatively low, given that it is a subscription to a newsletter. The cost of the subscription will depend on the number of users and the duration of the subscription. A possible estimate for the budget could be in the range of $10,000 to $50,000 per year, considering the cost of similar newsletter subscriptions and the number of users (3,000-4,000 NCI staff). Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the duration of the subscription, the number of users, and the frequency of publication.
