Description
Monroe County, GA is soliciting proposals from a licensed veterinarian to provide comprehensive veterinary services and oversight for its Animal Services shelter. The contractor will be responsible for rabies quarantine and observation, routine veterinary consultation, weekly rabies vaccinations, euthanasia services and drug management, DEA licensing, and related medical supply procurement. Compensation is structured as a proposed monthly fee plus reimbursement for vaccines, medications, and euthanasia drugs. The contract term is one year with up‑to‑two optional one‑year renewals.
• Provide rabies quarantine oversight, examinations, and documentation
• Offer on‑call veterinary consultation for illness, injury, disease control, and welfare
• Administer weekly rabies vaccinations and maintain proper records
• Authorize and oversee humane euthanasia, including drug handling and disposal
• Manage DEA registration and controlled‑substance compliance
• Submit invoices for reimbursable supplies at actual cost
• Deliver services as an independent contractor with required insurance coverage
