The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is seeking a consultant to develop a comprehensive and detailed Campus Electrical Distribution System Comprehensive Plan. The plan will evaluate existing electrical distribution and energy systems and outline actionable pathways for increasing the electrical capacity to serve the developmental growth of the tri-institutional campus. The scope of work includes reviewing the existing electrical distribution system capacity, evaluating the impact of the campus master build-out plan, and developing near-term solutions to address electrical system capacity constraint issues. The consultant will also evaluate alternate solutions for improving the capacity and reliability of the campus grid and coordinate with utilities to ensure alignment between the campus energy master plan and broader utility infrastructure.
• The project aims to address current capacity constraints and optimize energy distribution.
• The consultant will develop a practical construction and phasing plan to minimize service disruptions.
• The project includes evaluating alternative energy system solutions and exploring existing agreements, renewable energy sources, and advanced grid technologies.
• The consultant will coordinate with utilities to ensure alignment between the campus energy master plan and broader utility infrastructure.
• The project goals must align with the 2030/2050 carbon reduction goals outlined in the Auraria Campus Climate Action Plan.
