The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Toth Technology, LLC for services to provide a data aggregator and viewing tool. The goal of this project is to aggregate and index VA-housed healthcare data available for research and allow in-house researchers and data scientists to easily utilize this data for their work. The contractor will build a web interface backed by a queryable database that contains a manifest of all the data available. The system will be deployed on a Research Scientific Computing Device approved through enterprise risk assessment and located outside of the base VA network. The contractor will not be given access to VA data but will use publicly available data for creation. Key tasks include ingestion and preprocessing of data, data harmonization, database layer, web-based exploration UI, data visualizations, patient record viewer and selector, data export, and deployment and testing.
• The contractor will ingest and preprocess data from various modalities, including CT, MRI, digital pathology, bloodwork, and test results.
• The contractor will develop a web-based interface for researchers to browse and select datasets or subsets of data.
• The contractor will provide data visualizations, including modality counts, age distributions, and longitudinal time length.
• The contractor will develop a patient record viewer and selector, allowing researchers to view patient summaries and select data for export.
• The contractor will provide a data export interface, allowing researchers to download selected data for research.
