Intent to Sole Source with Joint Commission for Accreditation and Certification Services

The South Carolina Department of Mental Health intends to enter into a sole source contract with the Joint Commission for accreditation and certification services. The Joint Commission is the only national recognized provider of hospital accreditations, and this accreditation reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting established performance standards. The contract amount is $60,000. The purpose of the contract is to ensure that patient care meets and/or exceeds national standards. • The contract is for accreditation and certification services for the Department's inpatient facilities. • The Joint Commission is the only national recognized provider of hospital accreditations. • The contract amount is $60,000. • The Department's inpatient facilities serve a large population of Medicaid eligible patients and certification is required to participate in this Federal program.
