Toxicology Services

The County of San Mateo is seeking a contractor to provide forensic toxicology services for death investigations. The selected contractor will be required to perform services in a professional manner, hold all required permits and licenses, and be accredited by a major accreditation body. The contractor will be responsible for testing specimens, providing reports, and maintaining a quality assurance program. The contract will be awarded to the proposer that offers the best value to the County. • The contractor will be required to test for various substances, including drugs and alcohol. • The contractor will be required to provide reports that include quantitative results, interpretive comments, and methods of testing. • The contractor will be required to maintain a quality assurance program that includes participation in external proficiency testing programs and internal blind proficiency programs. • The contractor will be required to provide customer services, including telephone and email support. • The contractor will be required to assign an account representative to the Coroner's Office.
