Description
This IDIQ solicitation calls for a contractor to replace fire hydrants, valves, and related components throughout Davidson County. Metro supplies the new hydrants and most valve hardware; the contractor must handle removal, disposal, installation, traffic control, permits, and all associated labor and equipment. Work is performed on an as‑needed basis via purchase orders, with no guaranteed minimum quantity, and requires strict OSHA safety compliance, a 2‑hour emergency response window, and reimbursement of right‑of‑way permit fees.
• Remove existing hydrants/valves and return them to Metro Water Services.
• Provide all labor, equipment, excavation, back‑fill, traffic control, and required permits.
• Supply insertion valves, piping, fittings, valve boxes, frames, covers, and perform testing/disinfection.
• Maintain OSHA‑compliant safety program, emergency response procedures, and coordinate with Metro Water Services for shut‑offs and customer notifications.
