Paul Smith’s College seeks a qualified mechanical/HVAC contractor to remove and replace the existing boiler system serving the Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC). The work includes safe removal and disposal of existing boilers and associated components; installation of two high-efficiency, propane-fired 301,000 BTU boilers; required piping, controls, electrical, venting, safety, insulation, and finish-restoration work; and complete startup, testing, commissioning, staff training, and delivery of operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and as-built documentation.
Bidders must demonstrate experience with commercial boiler replacement projects of similar size and complexity and must possess all required New York State licenses, qualifications, insurance, and code-compliance credentials. The selected contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and services required for a complete, code-compliant, fully operational system.
Subcontracting is permitted for specialized portions of the work, provided the prime contractor remains fully responsible for all subcontractor work, coordination, quality control, safety, schedule, and compliance with the contract documents. Joint ventures may be considered if clearly identified in the bid submission and if all participating firms meet applicable eligibility and qualification requirements.
