The City of Hays Department of Water Resources is accepting proposals for the installation of a 20” mag meter and ancillary piping at the City of Hays Water Softening Plant. The project will replace the existing insertion-style flow meter with a 20” City-provided magnetic flow meter. The proposal should clearly demonstrate how the firm can best satisfy the requirements of the City of Hays.
Some key points to consider:
• The proposal should include a fee/cost proposal, qualifications/experience, references, detailed scope of work, proof of contractor license, and proof of insurance.
• The City of Hays will provide the magnetic flow meter, isolation of the 20” influent line, water storage towers and reservoirs, and all electrical and SCADA integration.
• The contractor will be responsible for dewatering the meter pit, removing the existing pipe and flow meter, preparing the existing pipe surfaces, and installing the new pipe and magnetic flow meter.
• The project is preferred to be completed in the early spring or late fall/winter, and the plant can be shut down for a certain period, depending on the seasonal average daily flow.
