Description

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is hosting a Proposers' Day for the BIOmolecular Grammar for protein Aggregation Modulation and Intervention (BIOGAMI) program. The program aims to develop novel therapeutic modalities that can prevent protein misfolding and aggregation, which are associated with various diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, cancers, and diabetes. The program will be accomplished through two overlapping technical areas: Establish the molecular grammar of IDRs and Modulate IDPs to detect and control protein folding. • The program will develop a comprehensive suite of novel test tube-based, cell-based, and model organism systems to recapitulate accurate protein misfolding across different diseases. • The program will leverage these systems to develop tools that can identify novel biological targets and initiate, manipulate, and reverse protein misfolding cascades to halt disease. • The program will develop a generalizable, comprehensive, and reusable computational and experimental platform for disordered proteins across multiple diseases.
