Notice of Intent to Sole Source: L3H - Kineto Tracking Mount (KTM) Main Power Reels

The United States Space Force, 30th Contracting Squadron (30 CONS), Vandenberg SFB, CA intends to issue a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to L3Harris for the procurement of two (2) Kineto Tracking Mount (KTM) main power reels in support of the 2nd Range Operations Squadron (2 ROPS). The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of RFO FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B), as this equipment is proprietary to L3Harris, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and sole design authority. • The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 335999, All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing. • The applicable Product Service Code (PSC) is 6150, Miscellaneous Electric Power and Distribution Equipment. • The 2nd Range Operations Squadron (2 ROPS) requires two (2) replacement KTM main power reels. • One new reel is needed to immediately replace the broken unit to restore safe operations and mission capability. • The second reel will serve as a critical spare to ensure operational readiness and avoid future mission downtime.
