Description
The North Carolina Department of Administration / State Construction Office is seeking design services for the Museum of Natural Sciences - Front Entry Renovation project. The project involves replacing the six main entry doors and curtain wall system due to life safety concerns. The renovation will include 3 new exterior doors, 3 new interior doors, full new interior & exterior curtain wall system, possibly new structural lintels or beams for additional support, renovation to entry flooring, replacement of access control & handicap door opening systems, and new door hardware.
• The total project budget is $1,656,000, with $156,000 available for design.
• The project is funded by the 2025-2026 Repairs & Renovations Reserve.
• The proposing firm must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina.
• The selection committee will consider factors such as specialized expertise, past performance, adequate staff, and proposed design approach.
