Description
The City of Salem is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide on-call general contractor repair and maintenance services. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to renew for up to two additional years. The contractor will be required to provide services including masonry and concrete, carpentry, drywall, painting, demolition, debris disposal, window and door installation, roofing, overhead door installation, and the repair and maintenance of any of these items. The contractor must be licensed to perform general contractor work in Massachusetts and have at least five years of experience in the field.
• The contractor will be required to respond to regular service calls within three hours and emergency calls within one hour.
• The contractor will be required to provide a written estimate prior to commencement of work.
• The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including prevailing wage rates.
• The contractor will be required to provide proof of insurance and bonding.
• The contractor will be required to comply with the City's tax exemption requirements.
