Purchase of new ChemiDoc™ MP Imaging system from BioRad

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award a contract without providing for full and open competition to Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. for the purchase of a new ChemiDoc MP Imaging system. The system will be used for cancer research, specifically for visualizing protein expression and evaluating the level of protein expression in vitro and in vivo. The contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-99-1. • The contract is for a non-competitive purchase of a specific imaging system. • The system will be used for research on lung cancer, which is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. • The purchase is intended to advance the research pace of the NIH. • The contract will be awarded without providing for full and open competition.
