Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a 3D vector magnet system for a dilution refrigerator. The system must be fully compatible with the existing Bluefors LD250 dilution refrigerator and meet specific requirements, including a rated field of 6-1-1 Tesla at 4.2K and homogeneity of +/-0.5%(Z), +/-1%(Y), +/-1.5%(X). The contractor shall deliver the system within eight months after receipt of the order. • The system must be mechanically, electrically, and cryogenically compatible with the existing LD250 dilution refrigerator. • The system must meet the minimum requirements specified in the description section. • The contractor must provide a capability statement describing what their company is capable of providing to meet the government's needs.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific price range. However, based on the complexity of the system and the fact that it is a specialized piece of laboratory equipment, the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of materials, labor, and research and development required to design and manufacture the system. Additionally, the fact that the government is considering a sole source contract with Bluefors, Inc. suggests that the system may be highly specialized and expensive.
