Design Re-Engineering of Battery "A" Grit Chamber @ WPC

The City of Flint is seeking a qualified engineering firm to redesign and re‑engineer the Battery “A” grit chamber at the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WPC). The scope includes detailed engineering design, hydraulic analysis, preparation of construction drawings, and specification of equipment to improve performance and extend the life of the grit removal system. The contractor will be responsible for delivering all required design documents, coordinating with city staff, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. • Conduct a full hydraulic and structural assessment of the existing grit chamber. • Develop new design solutions, including sizing, layout, and material specifications. • Produce detailed construction‑ready drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. • Provide technical support during construction and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information). • Ensure all deliverables meet local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
