United States Mint Die Steel

The United States Mint is seeking a contractor to provide high-grade steel in bar form, suitable for the manufacture of coinage dies used to produce proof and circulating coins. The contractor will be required to provide steel that meets the specifications outlined in the solicitation, including chemical composition, material, and sampling methods. The contract will be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, with a maximum potential value to be determined. The contractor will be required to provide engineering support and may be required to provide sample lots and testing for die life. • The contractor must provide steel that meets the quality levels for this requirement. • The contractor must be able to offer steel meeting the required diameters and lengths. • The contractor must be able to provide delivery of requested ordering quantities. • The contractor must be able to provide engineering support that meets the needs of the United States Mint. • The contractor must be able to provide sample lots and testing for die life, if required.
