The Department of the Interior (DOI), Office of Acquisition and Property Management, on behalf of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to collect industry feedback on the Draft Statement of Work for the Definition of Permanent Barriers. The RFI aims to identify interested entities with the expertise required to perform a study on permanent barriers used in offshore well integrity systems. The study will review available permanent barrier technologies, compile existing performance data, and develop a structured database to support internal evaluations.
Key aspects of the RFI include:
• Reviewing the full range of available permanent barrier technologies used globally
• Compiling and organizing existing performance data from literature, standards bodies, and technology providers
• Developing a structured database documenting barrier elements, operating envelopes, and minimum requirements
• Creating a review framework to help BSEE evaluate the effectiveness of barriers
The RFI is for market research only and is not a solicitation for proposals. No contract will be awarded from this announcement.
