Description
The City of Tuscaloosa is seeking qualified contractors to perform utility relocation work as part of the ALDOT SR‑69 intersection improvement project. The scope includes removal and replacement of existing water and gravity sewer lines, installation of new water main, sewer pipe, encasement pipe, precast concrete manhole, flowable backfill, asphalt patching, and bituminous concrete wearing surface, plus related site work such as landscaping and miscellaneous appurtenances. Bids must be sealed, submitted by the deadline, and the contractor will be awarded the contract within sixty days after the bid opening.
• Replace approximately 14 ft of 12‑in. water main and 65 ft of 8‑in. gravity sewer pipe.
• Install 5 ft of 24‑in. encasement pipe, a 48‑in. precast concrete manhole, and flowable‑backfill cement mortar.
• Perform 95 sq yd of asphalt patching and 938 sq yd of bituminous concrete wearing surface, plus required drainage, landscaping, and ancillary works.
• Mandatory pre‑bid conference on 17 Sep 2026; sealed bids due 24 Sep 2026 at City Hall.
• Plans and specifications are available for public inspection at the Water & Sewer Department and from Hazen & Sawyer engineering office.
