Description

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is seeking a qualified firm to conduct comprehensive hydrologic and geomorphic analysis for the Coastal Forest Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Tract 38. The scope includes hydraulic modeling, hydrologic assessment and monitoring, development of conceptual restoration designs and a final report, as well as evaluation of LiDAR data to support ecosystem management decisions. This effort will inform restoration planning and long‑term water resource management for the WMA. • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to evaluate water flow and flood risk. • Conduct field monitoring and data collection for hydrologic assessments. • Develop conceptual restoration designs and deliver a final technical report. • Analyze and interpret LiDAR datasets to support geomorphic analysis. • Provide recommendations for habitat restoration and water resource management.

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $300,000

Based on comparable state‑funded wildlife resource analyses and similar hydrologic‑geomorphic consulting contracts, a reasonable budget range is estimated between $150,000 and $300,000. The lower end reflects a modest scope with limited field work, while the higher end accounts for extensive LiDAR processing, detailed modeling, and a comprehensive final report.
