The National Park Service intends to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified master cooperative agreement for the Preservation Craft Training project. The project aims to support and stimulate work as well as promote education and training opportunities for young adults through collaborative participation in the restoration and rehabilitation of natural and cultural resources. The work completed through this agreement will be in service to public lands to be utilized and enjoyed for current and future generations. The tasks involved in this project include carpentry, masonry, and woodcrafting, and the intern will have the opportunity to develop and employ many different skills in the preservation of historic structures. The physical effort required is considered heavy to moderate and requires occasional lifting or handling of objects or materials over 75lbs.
• The project will provide a cost share of 25% of the total cost of the project as required match to NPS funds provided under this Task Agreement.
• The project will provide interns with living allowance, workers compensation, liability insurance, personnel management, and orientation to Conservation Legacy.
• The project will promote and stimulate public purpose such as education, job training, development of responsible citizenship, productive community involvement and furthering the understanding and appreciation of conservation through the involvement of youth and young adults in care and enhancement of public resources.
• The project will manage and carry out all administrative functions associated with the provisions of services under this agreement.
