Description
The project involves replacing the exterior domestic water service to the Central Classroom Building at Auraria Campus. The work includes installing new water distribution piping, fittings, and specialties within the building and up to 5 feet outside the building. The contractor must ensure that the work is done in accordance with the specified standards, codes, and regulations, including the 2021 International Plumbing Code and the ASME B31.9 "Building Services Piping" standard. The contractor must also provide warranties for the equipment, materials, and workmanship, and ensure that the system is properly tested and commissioned.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Installing above-ground and below-ground water distribution piping, including copper tube and fittings, and ductile iron pipe and fittings
• Providing pipe sleeves for foundation wall penetrations and coordinating the installation of pipe sleeves with other contractors
• Installing valves, accessories, and supports for the piping system
• Testing and commissioning the piping system to ensure that it is functioning properly and safely
