MASON INLET MAINTENANCE PROJECT

The County of New Hanover is seeking qualified contractors to perform hydraulic dredging and beach replenishment for the Mason Inlet Maintenance Project (2026‑2027). The base scope requires removal of approximately 376,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from Mason Inlet, Mason Creek, and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, with placement on the southern beachfront of Figure “8” Island. An optional 75,300 cubic yards of offshore dredging may be bid if the contractor has the capability. Additional work includes shaping, grading, and environmental monitoring of the beach area. Bids must be sealed, include a bid bond of at least 5%, and be submitted by September 23, 2026.
