RTA 1 Dry Dock

This solicitation seeks a qualified marine ship‑yard to perform a comprehensive dry‑dock, repair, overhaul, and repowering of the RTA 1 ferry (approximately 105 ft, 95 GRT). The work includes structural steel repairs, full hull blasting and coating, engine and propulsion system overhaul, hydraulic and electrical system refurbishment, pump and valve servicing, fire‑extinguisher recertification, and all related certification and testing required by the U.S. Coast Guard. The contract will be awarded on a fixed‑price basis to the lowest responsible bidder, with all work to be completed on the RTA’s New Orleans facility. • Dry‑dock the vessel, remove/repair hull plates, replace bearings, seals, anodes, and other structural components per ASTM standards. • Perform complete mechanical overhauls: main engines, reduction gear, generators, bow thruster, hydraulic cylinders, pump and valve refurbishments, and electrical system upgrades. • Apply multi‑coat epoxy and antifouling paint system (SSPC‑SP6‑85 blast, Intergard 264 epoxy, Interspeed antifouling) to hull, decks, and super‑structure. • Provide all required certifications (gas‑free, USCG inspections, marine‑chemist safety, Buy‑America compliance) and submit detailed reports, drawings, and maintenance records.
