The Northwest Florida Water Management District is seeking a qualified firm to provide consulting services for the development of a hydrodynamic model of St. Joseph Bay, Gulf County, Florida. The purpose of this model is to better understand circulation patterns within St. Joseph Bay and the critical forces driving these patterns. The selected firm will be responsible for determining data needs, producing a modeling plan, collecting data, and developing, calibrating, and applying a circulation model. The scope of work includes three primary tasks: developing a hydrodynamic modeling plan, developing and calibrating a hydrodynamic model, and performing model scenario runs.
• The modeling plan will detail the process, recommended modeling software, model boundary conditions, and spatial and temporal resolution.
• The hydrodynamic model will be constructed using the best available data and will be calibrated to observed water levels, salinity, temperature, flows, and/or any other variables of interest.
• The model scenario runs will evaluate the effects of changing boundary conditions on conditions in St. Joseph Bay.
Additional tasks may include data collection, report preparation, and meeting attendance.
