Description
The City of Palmdale is seeking a pre‑qualified Class A General Engineering Contractor to perform the Phase 1 remodel and renovation of the Chimbole Center and adjoining Library. The work includes extensive demolition, structural framing, roof and envelope upgrades, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, site grading, utility modifications, parking improvements, EV charging stations, and related site hardscape and landscaping. Contractors must demonstrate experience on public‑sector projects exceeding $20 million, maintain a strong safety record, meet financial‑capacity thresholds, and retain a consistent set of pre‑qualified subcontractors. The RFQ process collects Statements of Qualification (SOQ) only; successful firms will be invited to submit price proposals later.
• Scope covers full building renovation, structural, MEP, site work, and ancillary facilities.
• Minimum qualifications: Class A CA license, 10 + years public‑sector experience, ≥ 10 renovation projects ≥ 10,000 sf (≥ 5 phased), $20 M+ project history.
• Submission via PlanetBids by 12:00 PM April 20 2026; pre‑bid conference March 25 2026 (optional) and site walk April 13 2026.
