Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking partners for the development and flight of a science-driven suite of instruments and supporting technology demonstration payloads tailored to complete scientific investigations at a lunar landing destination. The investigation should address topics relevant to the science goals of NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, and Space Technology Mission Directorate. • The payload will be delivered on a Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) lander to a location on the lunar surface. • The proposers should provide information regarding their qualifications, including participation in current and past relevant flight, development, and research projects. • The proposers should identify one of the most qualified persons as a point of contact to become, potentially, a co-investigator on the NASA GRC-led proposal. • The PRISM awards are expected to cover all phases of the proposed investigation, including payload development and construction, instrument integration and calibration, support for the team through launch/operations, publication of results, and data analysis/dissemination/archiving.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not specify a budget or funding amount. However, based on the scope of the project, which involves the development and flight of a science-driven suite of instruments and supporting technology demonstration payloads, the budget could be in the range of $1 million to $10 million. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the payload, the number of partners involved, and the duration of the project.
