Coding Services

The County of San Mateo is seeking proposals for coding services for San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC). The selected contractor will provide coding assistance for charts in the Epic environment, including coding for Emergency Room visits and professional physician services. The contractor will also be responsible for reviewing and correcting coding edits and denials. The contract will have a term of five years. • The contractor will provide ICD-10 and CPT coding, modifier application, abstracting, and data input support. • The contractor will initiate and resolve queries to physicians to clarify physician documentation for accurate code selection. • The contractor will maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or above. • The contractor will provide semi-annual quality measurement reports.
