New Sunshine Substation Transmission Line Construction

The City of Gallup is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the construction of the New Sunshine Substation Transmission Line. The project includes the construction of two 115 kV transmission tap structures, modification of existing transmission line structures, installation of transmission conductors and shield wire, and coordination with ongoing substation upgrade activities. The contractor must have experience in line maintenance and construction services in distribution and transmission voltage work. The project is expected to start in July 2026 and must be completed within 21 days. • The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the project. • The contractor must comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and utility standards. • The contractor must have a written safety policy that aligns with OSHA’s regulations. • The contractor must have experience in high-voltage environments and must be qualified and trained in electrical lineman work. • The contractor must have a minimum of five years of experience in providing line maintenance and construction services. • The contractor must have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and must be able to work in high-voltage environments.
