Pre-Qualification of Hazardous Building Materials Abatement Contractors

The City of Vancouver is seeking qualified contractors to provide hazardous building materials abatement services. The successful contractors will be added to the City's pre-qualified list and may be contracted to perform abatement work on City-owned or leased properties. The scope of work includes the removal and disposal of hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and mould. Contractors must have a valid WorkSafeBC Asbestos License and ensure that all personnel performing work for the City have valid WorkSafeBC Asbestos Certification. • The contractor will be responsible for responding to requests for services within 24 hours for non-emergency works and in a timely manner for emergency works. • The contractor must supply all labour, materials, and equipment required to disturb, abate, and dispose of hazardous building materials. • The contractor must ensure that all waste materials are handled, stored, transported, and disposed of following applicable safe work procedures and laws. • The contractor must complete the work within the timeline indicated in the request for cost document and provide a project completion letter within five business days of completing the work.
