The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is soliciting comments on the proposed replacement of the Nenana River Bridge at Rex Crossing near MP 276 on the Parks Highway. The project includes repairing the revetment, relocating the RWIS system, paving and striping, replacing signs and guardrails, and vegetation clearing and grubbing. The replacement of the bridge will require a work trestle on the south side of the existing bridge and a temporary bridge placed on the north side of the bridge to be used as a detour route.
• The project is being developed in accordance with several Executive Orders, including EO 11990, EO 12898, EO 11593, EO 11988, and EO 13112.
• The project requires a permanent ROW acquisition for staging and a TCE for access during construction.
• Construction is currently planned for summer 2026.
• The DOT&PF is soliciting comments on the proposed project until January 7, 2026.
