The Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Task Force is seeking funding for its six regional panels to prevent the introduction and dispersal of ANS, monitor, control, and study such species, and disseminate related information. The regional panels will engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders to provide balanced advice to the ANS Task Force on issues of regional significance. Key aspects of the job include:
• Identifying regional ANS priorities
• Coordinating ANS program activities
• Providing advice to public and private interests concerning ANS management and control
• Fostering collaboration among States within watersheds or in similar geographic areas to address regional ANS threats and ongoing invasions
The membership of each regional panel consists of representatives from State and Federal agencies, Tribes, non-governmental organizations, and commercial interests. The funding provided to the panels supports their regional conservation missions, and their association with the ANS Task Force creates the opportunity for coordination and information-sharing at the national scale.
