Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products or services that can satisfy their anticipated needs for a Cold Neutron Imaging Instrument/Source Grading Co-bot. The co-bot should have specific technical specifications, including vertical translation, a reach of at least 800 mm, at least 6 degrees of freedom, and repeatability of less than or equal to 0.04 mm. NIST is seeking information from manufacturers capable of meeting these needs. Respondents should provide information about their company, the equipment they sell, technical specifications, and any additional relevant details. • The co-bot should be capable of moving a payload of at least 3 kg. • The co-bot should have a controller and software to program movement. • The co-bot should be supplied with a software development kit compatible with C#, C, C++. • Respondents should describe performance capabilities of the product and any additional features that could assist NIST in meeting its objectives. • Respondents should discuss whether the equipment can be customized to specifications and indicate any limits to customization.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $1,000,000

Given the technical specifications and the context of the notice, it's difficult to provide an exact budget estimation. However, considering the complexity of the Cold Neutron Imaging Instrument/Source Grading Co-bot and the fact that it's a specialized equipment, the budget could potentially range from $200,000 to $1,000,000. This estimation is based on the assumption that the equipment will require significant research, development, and manufacturing efforts, and that the final product will be a highly specialized and customized solution. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the technical specifications, the manufacturing costs, and the level of customization required.
