Satellite Laser Ranging Services III

The NASA/GSFC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire satellite laser ranging (SLR) services. The contractor shall provide SLR operations, maintenance and calibration of the NASA Transportable Laser Ranging System (TLRS-4), and support facility planning, installation, and operation of new NASA geodetic stations. The main objectives of the NASA Space Geodesy Project are to produce necessary observations for realization of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) and to maintain the ITRF. The contractor shall provide logistical and technical support for the implementation of next generation SLR and GNSS stations. Key responsibilities include: • Providing laser ranging operations and maintenance at TLRS-4 • Maintaining strict configuration control over all equipment and software in the range measurement chain • Performing engineering upgrades and providing support for engineering projects • Participating in ILRS workshop, committee, and study group meetings • Providing logistical and technical support for the implementation of new NASA geodetic stations
