Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to procure an Applied Biosystems QuantStudio 5 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) system from ThermoFisher Scientific/Life Technologies Corporation. This system is necessary to replace the discontinued Applied Biosystems 7500 and 7500 Fast systems, which are currently used by the FBI Laboratory for critical DNA quantification. The QuantStudio 5 PCR system is the designated successor to the 7500 system, and transitioning to this new system would only require a material modification study.
• The system includes various components such as the HID DNA QANTITATION SYSTEM-TEACH, HID RT PCR 1.4, 96WSTD CALIBRATION PLATE, and OPTICAL ADHESIVE COVERS.
• The delivery of the system shall be within 120 days after receipt of the order.
• The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
• Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by submitting their technical capabilities and cost information.
• The information provided will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
