Description

The New Jersey Department of Human Services (DMHAS) is seeking letters of interest from fully‑accredited child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) fellowship programs to create up to four new two‑year fellowship slots starting July 1 2026. Funding of $230,000 per fellow per year (total $460,000 per program for two fellows) will support training costs, with the possibility of additional positions if state appropriations allow. Applicants must be New Jersey‑based, obtain any required accreditation approvals, list the positions in the 2026 NRMP, and commit to a public/community psychiatry track that serves the state’s behavioral‑health system. The LOI package (max 50 pages) must be submitted via a secure SFTP site by November 7 2025, after obtaining login credentials by October 31 2025. Selected programs will be notified by December 5 2025 and must report hired fellows by June 30 2026 and provide quarterly updates thereafter. • Funding: $460,000 per program for two new fellows (two‑year total). • Eligibility: Any New Jersey‑based, fully‑accredited CAP fellowship program (public, private, nonprofit, for‑profit). • Deliverables: Creation of a public/community psychiatry training track, NRMP listing, quarterly performance reports, and compliance with all state and federal regulations. • Key deadlines: Credential request – Oct 31 2025; LOI submission – Nov 7 2025; award announcement – Dec 5 2025; fellow hire notification – June 30 2026.

Budget estimate

$460,000 – $920,000

The program awards $460,000 per selected fellowship program for two new fellows over a two‑year period. If a single organization secures one award, the expected revenue is $460 K; if it wins two awards (the maximum of four fellows could be split among two programs), the revenue could reach $920 K. Therefore, a reasonable estimate ranges from $460,000 to $920,000, assuming full utilization of the allocated funds and no additional costs borne by the awardee.
