MC-130 Radar

The United States Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to upgrade the MC-130J RTP to the WC-130J RTP configuration. The requirement includes upgrading the APN-241 Radar, installing the ANP-241 Radar, and assisting with troubleshooting system discrepancies. The contractor must have access to Northrop equipment and be able to detect rain rates in real-time. The contractor will be required to provide engineering support during developmental testing and on-site support at Eglin AFB. • The contractor shall upgrade quantity one MC-130J version RTP for the APN-241 Radar to the WC-130J RTP configuration. • The contractor must have experience with Northrop equipment and be able to detect rain rates in real-time. • The contractor will be required to provide engineering support during developmental testing and on-site support at Eglin AFB. • The proposed acquisition strategy is a fast-moving contract to be complete during Fiscal Year 2025. • The Government has determined that this system is not a commercial item and anticipates this requirement to be sole source to Northrop Grumman Corporation.
