State Line Substation Construction

The City of Sturgis is seeking a contractor to construct a new substation at a greenfield site. The project includes civil site preparation, installation of below-grade and above-grade work, construction of a control house, and completion of equipment power and control wiring. The contractor will be responsible for pulling necessary permits, testing the transformer, and relocating a laminate pole. The substation must be ready for energization by May 15, 2026, and completion and final billing must be completed by June 1, 2026. • The project requires the installation of two 69kV circuit switchers, two 10/12.5MVA power transformers, and three 69kV breakers. • The contractor must complete all site restoration as instructed and depicted in the substation civil package. • The project includes the construction of distribution pole top and riser assemblies and the relocation of a laminate pole. • The contractor must provide all brackets, hardware, and drill all required holes to facilitate the mounting of fuses, potential transformers, surge arresters, wiring enclosures, ground wires, conduit, and equipment signage.
