187F-25 New Direct Deisel Battery Electric Locomotives Consortium

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking proposals for the procurement of new diesel and battery electric locomotives. The contract includes the purchase of 20 new passenger locomotives, consisting of 10 Tier IV diesel-electric locomotives and 10 battery/catenary locomotives. The selected vendor will be required to design, engineer, manufacture, and deliver the locomotives, as well as provide comprehensive project management, testing, and warranty support.
