Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a comprehensive mid‑life overhaul of thirteen F59PHI diesel‑electric locomotives. The work includes disassembly, refurbishment, replacement of major mechanical and electrical systems, testing, documentation, and warranty support, with all logistics (transport to/from the Oakland Maintenance Facility) handled by Caltrans. The contractor must have a facility capable of handling 2‑4 locomotives simultaneously, provide all labor, equipment, parts, and incidentals, and meet extensive safety, environmental, and quality‑assurance requirements.
