Description

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is hosting a Proposers' Day event for the Hearing Enhancement through ARtificially Intelligent NeurotechnoloGy (HEARING) program. The program aims to develop a new kind of hearing-assistive platform that directly engages the brain's hearing centers to improve how people hear in complex, real-world environments. The HEARING program will directly address critical challenges of hearing loss and make meaningful impact to health outcomes. The program is comprised of three main technical areas: TA1 Intracortical Device(s), TA2 Dynamic Sound Modulator, and TA3 Auditory Read & Write Algorithm. • The Proposers' Day event will take place on June 8, 2026, in Arlington, VA, and will include brief overview presentations, a live Q&A session, and a poster session for potential proposers to highlight technical capabilities and promote teaming arrangements. • The event is intended to facilitate teaming and foster a greater understanding of the HEARING program. • The HEARING program seeks to reduce the cognitive burden required for one to engage in social activities in noisy environments and restore near-natural clarity to everyday sounds. • The program will provide information about the overall program goals, solution summary, and full proposal structure for the forthcoming Innovative Solutions Opening (ISO). • Potential proposers are encouraged to attend the Proposers' Day event, but attendance is not mandatory for submission of a solution summary, full proposal, or selection for funding.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated, but based on the scope and goals of the HEARING program, it can be estimated that the funding will be substantial, likely in the range of millions of dollars. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the technical areas, the number of awards anticipated, and the overall budget of the ARPA-H agency. Given these factors, a rough estimate for the budget could be between $1 million and $10 million.
