Description
The City of Salem is seeking bids for the supply of solar salt for use in the on-site generation of a sodium hypochlorite solution. The solar salt must meet the requirements of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standard for Sodium Chloride, ANSI/AWWA B200-17. The successful bidder will be required to provide NSF/ANSI Standard 60 documentation prior to award. The contract will be for a period of 12 months, with an option for renewal.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing solar salt that meets the AWWA Standard for Sodium Chloride, ANSI/AWWA B200-17
• Ensuring the solar salt is free from contaminants and meets the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act
• Providing a spill response plan to the City's Contract Administrator within two calendar weeks of the contract award
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to environmental protection and labor standards
